CYCLORAMAS- TYPES
A cyclorama is a background.
It’s that simple!
And he used to have a background behind it, or the presenters.
The cyclorama can, in many cases, and almost always installed so, replace the sets.
But how does a cyclorama made?
A cyclorama is could take many forms, but mainly made of cloth or something solid, like wood or plasterboard.
There are several types of cycloramas:
In each of the following sections lightens somewhat each.
CYCLORAMA CURTAIN
The cyclorama curtain is characterized by a rail, which can be straight, L, U, or perimeter surrounding the entire set.
This cyclorama can be single, double, triple …. and have, or not, an interchange between the rails.
These rails, hanging by wheeled carts, fabric curtains or panels, which can be any color, green chroma, blue chroma, grey, black, white, translucent etc …
Depending on the number of rails, we have the equivalent of planes cyclorama, which does not mean we have several curtains on the same rail. With this configuration, we can move each of the curtains or panels, to the position that we need at all times by a pole from the ground.
The carts that carry the curtains, must take an end and in the beginning, hand brake to tension the curtain, or block the panel.
The case of the black curtain, is special, because it is used for several reasons:
-
To have a black background and provide privacy.
-
To avoid light reflection on the walls.
-
To wrap the entire study in fabric and avoid light reflection and reverberation of sound.
No wonder the case where the study is wrapped with black curtain on the grounds of reflection of light and noise, and before another color curtain is placed according to the purposes that we intend to achieve.
Of course, curtains or panels must be treated for fire with a flame retardant. Not just any fabric if we are to avoid security problems.
VIRTUAL CYCLORAMA WITH INFINITE WALLS
This is a special case of cyclorama.
This is the camera does not see straight lines. Not see sudden changes in texture, color, or shades.
To do dihedral (joining walls, floors or walls), and trihedral (union of two walls and floors or corner) is deleted.
The way to do this is joined by corners and quarter spheres, the dihedral and trihedral.
Once made, a monochrome painted left color, and with high color saturation.
Normally, the selected color will be blue chroma, or green chroma.
The priority now is green chroma, since blue is a very common color in the clothes of the presenters, and would confusion when it comes to “lift” the chroma, plus it is very dark, and requires lot of light projectors funds. While green chroma, is a color, so strange that anyone, plus it is clearer and thoughtful, requiring less light projectors funds saw.
Normally, the cyclorama or virtual infinite background or scenery, are implemented using wood, fiberglass or plasterboard. Sometimes, as a combination thereof.
What is really important is to blur, as much as possible, the connections between the various panels and curves. Although this is becoming less important as quality increases Chromakey.
Having gained almost no visibility of the joints, is painted a uniform color, and then ends with a chroma color.
Finally, it is important lighting as uniform as possible throughout the cyclorama.
